Telehealth is the use of electronic information and telecommunications technologies by our physicians to support long-distance clinical health care management, education and interventions. Technologies include videoconferencing, the internet, store-and-forward imaging, streaming media, and terrestrial and wireless communications.

We provide inpatient telemedicine services on-demand to cover gaps in hospitalist coverage at hospitals in rural locations, or specialty hospitals in metro areas in Louisisana.

We also provide physician-led monitoring and interpretation of physiological data (weight, blood pressure, pulse oxymetry, blood sugar and temperature) gathered and transmitted by patients from home on their personal schedule using wireless technology.

Generally, the remote patient monitoring service is not covered by insurance plans, therefore we make it available to our patients on a monthly subscription basis that includes the rental of hardware, asynchronious monitoring of unlimited data for early detection of abnormal trends and physician-led telephone communications, medication adjustments and educational interventions designed to reduce ER visits and hospitalizations.
